5 May 2016 : The Intelligence Bureau and Delhi police cell in a raid conducted today morning in Delhi, NCR region and Deoband in Uttar Pradesh arrested 12 suspected Jaish-e – Mohammad (JeM) terrorists.
Bomb making materials were seized from the 8 suspected JeM Terrorists arrested from Delhi and 4 arrested from Deoband. All the suspects are presently in police custody and being questioned.
All the arrested are suspected to be members of a sleeper unit of a terror outfit. They were reportedly planning an attack on the national capital and other cities.

Two youths arrested from east Delhi’s Gokulpuri area were allegedly in the process of making explosive devices. During interrogation, the two arrested youths revealed the names of others involved who were tracked down by the team. The interrogation also revealed that they had been in touch with JeM leader Yousuf Al Hindi.

The special cell has filed an FIR against the suspects for being members of an unlawful group (Unlawful Activities and Prevention Act, UAPA) and under the Explosives Act and for criminal conspiracy.
Special Cell teams are conducting raids in Delhi and UP, and more arrests are expected.
