Militants Attack Policemen In Srinagar – Three Dead

23 May 2016 : Armed terrorists launched an attack in Srinagar. The terrorists carried out two simultaneous strikes within a matter of few hours. The terrorists killed three police personnel which included an officer. The terrorists also decamped with the service rifle belonging to one of the cops who was murdered.

At 10.45 am, the militants launched the first strike in Zadibal Srinagar and killed two policemen. The Zadibal area connects Srinagar to the Hazratbal Shrine and the SKIMS hospital located in the Soura area. The militants fired at the two policemen from a close range in Mill Stop in the Zadibal area.

The two policemen who were attacked died immediately after receiving the gun shots. They have been identified and their names are Nazir Ahmad, who was a head constable and Ghulam Mohammad who held the position of a sub inspector. Both the policemen held their respective positions at the Zadibal Police Station.

Constable Mohammad Sadiq, the personal security guard of the Jammu and Kashmir Pasmanda Tabqajaat’s chairman, was shot in the second attack. This attack was launched at noon and the militants decamped with the service rifle belonging to Mohammad Sadiq, who later passed away in the hospital.
