Mumbai Court Delivers Justice in the Keenan- Reuben Murder Case

5 May 2016 : In a verdict which is sure to de motivate eve teasers across the country, a special court of Mumbai pronounced all four accused in the 2011 murder case guilty and sentenced them to life imprisonment till death. In 2011, two youngsters lost their lives in an attempt to fight eve-teasers who misbehaved with their female friends.

According to records, the eve teasers stabbed Keenan Santos (24) and Reuben Fernandez (29) who fought for the safety and dignity of their female friends.The incident took place in Andheri on October 20, 2011.

The victims were attacked and stabbed by eve teasers when they tried to protect their woman companions . After the protest from Keenan and Reuben, the four accused initially retreated only to return later with ten aides. The group brutally assaulted Keenan and Reuben in full public view leading to their deaths.

Police arrested Jitendra Rana, Sunil Bodh, Satish Dulhaj and Dipak Tival the very next day after the incident.In October 2012, the court had framed charges against four accused for murder, conspiracy and molestation.
