24 May 2016 : Rajnath Singh, the Union Home Minister has stated that the most wanted criminal of India Dawood Ibrahim will soon be nabbed and efforts will be made to bring him to India. The minister however did not fix a time limit for the same.
In a statement to media persons, the Home Minister said that the international terrorist will soon be brought to India with the help and support of international agencies.
Singh stated that the relevant documents regarding the case had been provided to Pakistan. It is to be noted that that the External Affairs Ministry has been continuously perusing Pakistan to hand over the criminal to India after a TV channel claimed to have tracked Dawood’s location.
The Union Minister also took up the matter of threats received from ISIS. The ISIS in a video release which showed Indian jihadis threatened to launch attacks on India as a revenge for the atrocities committed on the Muslim population of India. Singh said that there was no need to worry as there was no threat to the nation.
In the video, Thane resident Fahad Tanvir Sheikh had stated that he will take revenge for the the Babri Masjid demolition and for the killings of Muslims in India.
